Brandon Lee Russell

Brandon Lee Russell, 34, of North Kansas City passed away April 8, 2017.  His life ended way too soon doing one of the things he loved most, running as he finished the Rock the Parkway Half -Marathon. Six weeks later the Brandon Russell Memorial Foundation held its first event, The Flash Dash. Inspiration for the name came from Brandon's favorite comic book hero, The Flash.

Brandon graduated from St. Pius X High School where he ran track, cross country, and played football. His football number was 21, which can be seen on lots of Flash Dash swag. After high school he earned a Master’s of Accountancy from the University of Missouri at Columbia.  He was currently employed by Burns and McDonnell as a Contract Analyst, a job he truly loved.

Brandon had a zest for life and was a best friend to everyone.  Family and friends were very important to him. He also enjoyed reading and was a movie buff.  Brandon was an avid sports fan, especially the Mizzou Tigers, Royals, and Chiefs.

He was charismatic, witty, and his personality was contagious. He will be remembered for all the amazing things he did, but one thing that he consistently did was bring people together.

To carry on his legacy, the Brandon Russell Memorial Foundation (AKA Handsome Inc.) was created by family and friends with the following mission: "To enrich lives and help fulfill the full potential of humanity  through compassion, fitness, and forging lasting bonds."
